ACGOW in November "How We Got Here — Moments in Time"

November 4 — 29, 2026 Opening Reception, First Friday, November 6, 5-8 p.m.

The Artists’ Cooperative Gallery of Westerly presents a completely new exhibit every month, and artists replace works as they are sold so there is always something new to see. November’s show invites viewers to journey through the defining moments that shape our lives, communities, and histories. Through diverse artistic perspectives and mediums, the exhibition explores memory, change, and the fleeting instances that leave lasting impressions. Each work serves as a marker in time, revealing the paths that have brought us to the present.  “How We Got Here – Moments In Time” will feature  two-dimensional and three-dimensional original artworks including paintings, glass, woodwork, pottery, jewelry, fabric, holiday cards and more. Our First Friday opening reception is free and open to the public. As always, it will include beverages and homemade hors d’oeuvres. We appreciate the sustaining sponsorship of Westerly's coffee and cocktail café, Perks and Corks, of their provision of wine at our monthly receptions.

In the gallery’s west wing, visitors will find a shop filled with all manner of small, affordable, one-of-a-kind handmade decorative objects, small paintings, framed and unframed prints, books and journals, and cards specially curated for the season.

Throughout November and December ACGOW will be collecting donations of new art supplies to be delivered to the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center in time for the holidays. All are encouraged to drop off art donations at the Gallery to help give the gift of art and spread some holiday cheer. Suggested art supplies are art packets for children of all ages—so children have everything they need to create. Examples: watercolor set or acrylics with brush & paper, crayons with pad, markers with pad, colored pencils with pad. Give the gift of art to someone special, or a neighborhood child, and discover just how beautiful small can be.  The Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center (PNC) provides social and essential services for people of all ages who reside in Stonington, Pawcatuck, Mystic, North Stonington and Westerly. For more information go to www.pawcatuckneighborhoodcenter.org

Artist member Tammy Blais will offer classes in November in which participants will sketch a motif, then produce a finished 6x8” oil painting using only a palette knife. Classes are scheduled for Tuesdays, November 10 at 2pm, November 24 at 5:30pm. Interested persons should contact Ms. Blais at Tammy@tammyblaisart.com.  See our Education page for more details,
