Aileen Monahan Quinn discovered a love for watercolor as a teenager growing up along Narragansett Bay, spending hours sketching coastal scenery before transitioning to watercolor at age 14. A graduate of the Butera School of Art in Boston (1981), Quinn built a 25-year career in sign painting and hand lettering throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts, while continuing to explore fine art and teaching.
In recent years, the artist has combined a passion for art education and community engagement through roles with the Coventry Public Library, Audubon Society of Rhode Island, and Warwick Center for the Arts. Currently, Quinn serves as Programming Coordinator and Arts Educator at Warwick, and in 2024 opened a new studio space at the Maxfield Mays Wildlife Refuge, where she leads plein air sessions, watercolor workshops, and community art events. Ms. Quinn's practice is rooted in a love of nature, collaboration, and lifelong creative growth.

Janice Sheehan Hodge's creative journey began on a farm, where she developed a deep appreciation for the textures, scents, and details of the natural world. That early connection with the outdoors inspired the artist to explore visual storytelling, first through black-and-white photography with a 35 mm camera. Eventually, Hodge was drawn to painting, eager to bring color and life to the images that captured her imagination-guided by the influence of artists like Andrew Wyeth and Monet. Largely self-taught with some private instruction, Ms. Hodge works in oils, pastels, and more recently, acrylics. Her travels through Maine and Europe continue to inspire her work, especially places steeped in history or untouched by modern life. Through Hodge's paintings, she aims to preserve fleeting moments and evoke a sense of nostalgia, hoping to spark meaningful memories in others.
