ELIGIBILITY: Artists across the Northeast are invited to submit their best work for an opportunity to show in this well-known and prestigious exhibit. New England entrants over the age of 18 are eligible to enter all original Fine Art and Fine Craft media, 2D, 3D and Photography. Works must be for sale at the fair market value, no NFS or POR accepted. 2D work must be suitably finished/framed and ready to hang, with fasteners and wire attached. No sawtooth hangers accepted. Works may not exceed 45” in any direction, including frame.

 

ENTRY FEES: ACGOW Artist Members: First entry is free, one or two additional entries are $10 each. Non-Members and Associate Members: One entry is $20; two $35; three $40. ACGOW retains a 30% commission on all sales by non-member and associate member exhibitors. Payment is non-refundable and does not guarantee acceptance. Participants agree to permit ACGOW to use images of artwork for publicity purposes on social media, newspaper or other Public Relations purposes.

 

SUBMITTING WORK: Drop-off Monday, April 1, between 12 and 4 pm; or Tuesday, April 2, between 3 and 7 p.m.  Entry forms can be downloaded from our website. They should be filled out in advance and brought in with your work, along with a check for the appropriate amount. PLEASE NOTE: one entire form is required for each entry, and each will be given a number by an ACGOW volunteer at the time of delivery. The top portion of the entry form is kept by ACGOW; the second part goes on the back of the artwork; the bottom part is your receipt with a reminder of the pick-up date and time.

 

LIABILITY: Extreme care will be taken with your artwork, however, ACGOW cannot assume responsibility for loss or damage. Artists are asked to maintain their own insurance.

 

PICKING UP WORK: Unaccepted work will be available for pickup during regular April gallery hours.

Selected Artists' works must be on display in the gallery until the end of the show at 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 28. Artworks may then be picked up between 5 and 7 p.m.  Please take into consideration when you enter the show that there is NO EARLY REMOVAL OF WORK.

Artworks left 30 days past exhibit closing will become property of ACGOW and donated to charity.

 

JUROR: Every year a guest juror brings a fresh perspective to the Gallery while creating a unique and exciting exhibit. This year ACGOW is honored to welcome Ben Anderson, associate professor of three-dimensional art and sculpture at the University of Rhode Island. He previously taught at Rhode Island School of Design in Providence; Brown University in Providence; Bryant University in Smithfield, RI; and the University of California at San Diego. Anderson holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Visual Arts from the University of California at San Diego (1992) and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Rhode Island School of Design, in Providence (1984). He is also the recipient of the 2005 Director's Choice Award from the Museum of Fine Arts, in Boston, and a 2002 Rhode Island State Council for the Arts Individual Artist's Grant. Professor Anderson will be responsible for curating the exhibit and determining the award winners in all categories.

 

JURY RESULTS: Notification of Accepted Works will be posted on this web page by the end of the day on April 4th. Look for your entry number(s) here.

 

AWARDS: More than $3,000 in awards will be given to artists selected by the juror to honor their accomplishments in the following  categories:

Excellence in Photography; The Katherine Forest Craft Foundation Fine Crafts Awards (including the Louise Forest Gibson, Joseph Gaulteri, Alice Clark Hubbard, and Mabel Kingsbury Fentress, and Mary Ann Hall) awards for Fine Crafts; the Teddy Goberis Award for excellence in Ceramics; the Louise Pittaway Award for Excellence in Painting; Watch Hill Oysters Award for Fine Art Watercolor; Nancy Verbila Memorial Award for Collage/Mixed MediaACGOW Award for Fine Art; Granite Photo Gift Certificate for Photography.
