ACGOW in JULY "Land & Seascapes"
July 1 — August 2, 2026 Opening Reception, July 3, 5-8 p.m.
Summer is finally here. Gardens are in bloom, beaches and bike trails beckon, and it’s time to escape the gym and get out into the natural world.
July’s show “Land and Seascapes," celebrates the height of the season. The show is made possible, in part, with the support of ACGOW’s sustaining sponsor, Perks and Corks, a coffee and cocktail café on High Street in Westerly and with a generous gift from Rob Valenti of Valenti Toyota at Dunn’s Corner, Westerly.
As always, the Gallery will be filled with a show of new work by more than 50 members in a variety of mediums including paintings, sculpture, jewelry, pottery, photography, fabric art, glass, and more. The public is invited to a wine and hors d’oeuvres reception on the first Friday of the month, July 3.
The works of member artists Helen Roy and Ed Porter will be featured in the main gallery. Please click the button, above, to learn more about their work. ACGOW member Mimi Huszer Fagnant, will be presenting a demonstration of her lampwork bead making process during the July opening reception. Ms. Fagnant’s delicately intricate beads feature prominently in her popular line of handcrafted jewelry.
On Saturday, August 22, ACGOW will host its annual fundraising gala, The Art Heist. Tickets for the popular event are now on sale at the gallery. Prices are $150 for a ticket admitting two people to enjoy a wide selection of foods and beverages as well as live music and the guaranteed opportunity to ‘heist’ a work of art worth at least $250. A $40 ticket admits one person without the opportunity to heist art. Art for the heist is donated by members and other area artists and will be on view beginning on July 1 for a preview in the Community Gallery at ACGOW at the Westerly train station. (See our Events page.)
