Education at ACGOW
Our United in Arts Community Gallery is part of ACGOW’s Community Outreach program. The Community Gallery is a dedicated space where ACGOW hosts artwork from regional schools and community art groups who do not have other venues to display their work.
For each of seven months of the year, at no charge, a different group or school has sole use of the United in Arts Community Gallery room. This opportunity provides an avenue for these organizations to promote the work of their members and students.
Some groups who have showcased in the Community Gallery include area public and private elementary and high schools, amateur art groups, and local non-profit organizations such as the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center and The Frank Ocean Center for persons with developmental disabilities.

Art It Forward!
CONTINUUM ARTS FOUNDATION presented the inaugural: THE CORRINE HANSEN TAYLOR “ART IT FORWARD” SCHOLARSHIP this month, created by artist Serena Bates, and hosted by Artists' Cooperative Gallery of Westerly.
The Corrine Hansen Taylor “Art It Forward” Scholarship is to be awarded to a Westerly High School graduating senior in need of financial assistance who is pursuing a career in any area of the fine arts. Continuum Arts Foundation would like to honor a random act of kindness that changed the course of its founder’s career and now, pay that gratitude forward.
Corrine Hansen Taylor, a WHS alumnus, class of 1984, once surprised her dear friend with an investment into her art career at a crucial time, thus providing momentum and changing the course of the artist’s life. One stipulation was made; when the time came that her artist friend could afford to, she was to pay it forward. This year became that time.
Please join us in celebrating the very first endowment of the Corrine Hansen Taylor “Art It Forward” Scholarship! $1000 was given to Justin Chen and $750 was given to Sienna Fusaro. They will be having a small exhibit of their artwork in August at ACGOW and we will be selling tickets for a pancake breakfast to take place in September. The local Chapter of the Masons are hosting this event to support the scholarship endeavor for 2023. I hope you will support us in this venture or consider making a direct contribution to the fund. Contact Serena Bates if you have any questions. Two young artists were made very happy!
